Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Las Vegas has exciting shows, famous casinos, top restaurants and the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The Speedway sits on 1,200 acres and held its first race, the Indy Las Vegas 500, in 1996. The complex is home to four different tracks; the Super Speedway, the Strip, the Bullring and the Dirt track. The Super Speedway runs NASCAR, Nextel Cup Series and Craftsman Trucks. The Bullring runs Legends, Stock cars, Modifieds, Thunder Roadsters and the Whelen All American Series. The Strip offers Street Legal, Motorcycles, Jr. Dragsters, Supras, and NHRA Finals. The Dirt Track is home to the AMA Flat Track Finals, CRA Midgets, Monster Trucks and Sprint cars to name a few.


Tickets for the Super Speedway generally start at $25 for a one-day race pass and various weekend packages are also available. The Bullring tickets start at $10 for one-day events. General admission tickets to the Strip are $10 and Dirt Track tickets begin at $20for a one-day adult pass.


The Speedway offers several locations for campers. For NASCAR events you can rent sites at the Motorhome Hill which is located above the back stretch and gives campers a view of the entire track. Other sights available during races are located at the Infield RV, Checkered Flag RV, Boulevard RV, Bullring RV, Turn 3 and Hollywood RV. Rental rates vary according to event and you must make reservations.


Tours of the Speedway are offered daily for $8. Admission includes a tour of 9 tracks, a luxury suite, access to the infield and laps around the track depending on availability of the track. Race fans always seem to crave excitement and speed and the Fast Lap Indoor Kart Track supplies both. Grab a helmet, buckle in and take off. Their Karts are modeled after the CIK Outdoor Champion Sodi-Kart and reach speeds up to 50 mph. The tracks are professionally designed for maximum thrill and every lap is timed and recorded. Pro-racers such as Kurt and Kyle Busch are frequent visitors. A variety of admission packages are available beginning at $25.00.


Car enthusiasts will enjoy the Imperial Palace Hotel's auto collection. The Auto museum is said to be the worlds largest located on 125,000 sq ft on the fifth floor. Cars on exhibit are not only for show, they available for purchase. The exhibits include vintage buses, military transports, luxury, muscle and high performance cars of all kinds. Admission is $7.00 for adult and $3.00 for children. Vegas certainly has something for race fan.
